Remote Learning

The days of the pandemic are behind us ; we hope that we will never have to revert to the Covid remote learning arrangements of the past.

However, we are mindful that other situations may require us to facilitate learning from home for groups of children, for example, if there was a weather-induced closure such as flooding.  Or if we had a building emergency such as a fire.

Individual children might require personalised remote packages in the case of illness, incapacity or family emergencies. These would be bespoke to each child.

If group remote learning  was required, we would use our My-Ed app to make contact with parents from each year group to explain our lesson planning.

We would then sign post them to appropriate learning.

This would be a blend of:
•    Use of current learning platforms such as
o    RockerBox for reading
o    Timetables Rock Stars and Numbots for maths
o    Spelling Shed and Grammarsaurus for writing.
•    Teacher specific lessons e-mailed direct to families.

•    Teacher selected units from Oak Academy that align with the work that the children might miss in the event of a school closure. See example below.

The EYFS team would use Tapestry to communicate with their pupils and share learning to complete at home.

We would also use the DfE guidance for support.
