Year 3 Trip to THE COLLECTION MUSEUM 21.03.18
Year 3 – Trip to the Collection Museum in Lincoln
On Wednesday 21st March, Year 3 classes went to the Collection Museum in Lincoln.
The children went to learn more about the Ancient Egyptians and take part in lots of fun activities. The children had the chance to make their own artefacts and build a sarcophagus! They even got to make their own mummy for the inside.
After that, they re-enacted a play about Seth and Osiris and the battle to the thrown by Horus. All the children had lots of fun dressing up and being the different characters. Some of the children looked a little funny but they knew the story very well!
Then, they took part in a dig to find different artefacts and they had the chance to be field archaeologists for the day! They dug for their findings, measured and recorded what they had found.
Lastly, they had to pull out the organs from a mummy, wrap the body and place the organs in jars. It was really fun and they had to follow the order of the Priest and the Gods.
Everyone had an amazing day and the children really learnt a lot!
