Pupils’ Parliament
On Wednesday 18th October, the Pupils’ Parliament went on a trip to the Mayor’s office at Boston Borough Council. They sat in the Mayors chair and had a go at using his hammer. They also created their own Boston council and acted out how to settle a debate. The Mayor showed us how a decision was made in a council room.
They also were able to look inside the Mayor’s cabinet at all the old artefacts, they asked lots of questions about the different pieces of treasure and we learnt how important it was.
Lastly, the children went into the council CCTV room to look the different cameras around Boston and Lincolnshire. The children tried to see if they could spot people and find different places they knew in Boston.
The children had a great day with the Mayor, they even got to have biscuits with him too. An excellent day had by all the children.
