The Year 2 children had an absolutely brilliant time at Lincoln Castle today. They had the chance to walk around the walls surrounding the castle looking at all the defensive features. They also got to try their hand at being a squire, shooting an arrow, attend a medieval banquet and they even made their own shield! We were able to get up close with some replica knight amour that the children tried on. We have learnt so much today and can’t wait to get stuck into our History lessons on Lincoln Castle! Well done Rabbits and Squirrels and thank you for a lovely day!
The Investigators class have enjoyed using the computers and laptops this afternoon to access the Linguascope website to support their learning of Spanish. The children have the log in details in the back of their Reading Records and can access the website at home. We have started learning colours in Spanish.
Year 1 walked to Staniland school to attend a dinosaur workshop. The children listened to information about different dinosaurs and fossils. The children were then lucky enough to meet Jack the 7 week old baby dinosaur and a T-rex dinosaur called Sophie.
The children each then became palaeontologists and carefully brushed the sand to reveal different kinds of fossils and used the information folders to find out which fossil they had found.
The children had a lovely, fun fact filled morning.
This afternoon a group of Year 6 pupils have been to the Sam Newsom centre to perform the poetry they have written. Although a few children were nervous they all did brilliantly! Well done everyone.
The Owls Class had an excellent visit to the library last Thursday. They read books about dinosaurs, made their own dinosaur and was read a story to them by the librarian. It was a fun morning which was enjoyed by everyone.
The children in Year 2 Rabbits have been making Salt Dough UKs. They then painted each country in the UK a different colour and labelled capital cities as well as Boston and Hastings (which is part of our History this term). Finally they labelled the bodies of water that surround the UK. Test your child to see if they can tell you the countries and capital cities of the UK!
